Phew, that was quick!

Sorry for posting again today... but I have completed number 1 on my list for the week:

1. write thank you letters for all my lovely birthday gifties

Hurrah!

And here are some pics, since I made awesome thank you cards, not normal rubbishy ones ;)

Are we on Week 4 or Week 5? Who knows!

Either way, here is the update:

1. finish painting the butterdish
2. continue working on final designs of the embroidered badges
3. make birthday cakes/food for party
4. design paper E for Dave
5. make birthday hat for party
6. tidy my studio

Woohooooo! Loads of stuff ticked off!

And just in case you wanted to see my birthday hat, here it is:

La-Roux-nicorn!

Anywho, onwards: I know it's a bit naughty, but those bloomin' embroidered badges are the bane of my existence and I am going to remove them. I know that's not quite in keeping with what this is all about, but I really don't want to think about them, and I'm still not sorted on how I want them to look or anything, so I'll re-add them at some point.

So, my new challenges for the week are going to be:

1. write thank you letters for all my lovely birthday gifties
2. make a pretty card for my very kind cousin Cecily
3. finish that bloomin' butterdish
4. work out a proper daily stretches to stop my poor neck from hurting so much
5. find some kind of pilates class or some kinda class I can do, or start an exercise regime
6. maintain studio tidiness and further organise where necessary

Wish me luck!

I'm back, hurrah!

Oh dear, Vixie has been an ill bunny :(

But I'm back now and I have one hell of an update to write... let's see where we left off...

1st November update would have looked like this:

3. make the hot air balloons which I have now finished designing
4. finish painting the butterdish
5. continue working on final designs of the embroidered badges
6. tidy my studio

So only one thing got done off that list, and they didn't even turn out very well, so I'm going to remove it from the list and try it again once I have worked on some different designs.

The remainders and additions for the week of 2nd Nov were:

1. finish painting the butterdish
2. continue working on final designs of the embroidered badges
3. make birthday cakes/food for party
4. design paper E for Dave
5. make birthday hat for party
6. tidy my studio

I spent days and days making my studio look lovely, so that one is being good and proper ticked off for the week. There's still lots of work to do, but it's looking millions better:

And here is the rest of my upstairs, which is also looking super duper good:

I love my flat, it is the awesomest :)

Almost Week 3 - studio update

Hello!

I have been a very busy bee this week (hurrah for time off work... if I were able to find the money to quit my job entirely, that would make me a very happy bee as well)!

Anywho, on to business:

3. make the hot air balloons which I have now finished designing
4. finish painting the butterdish
5. continue working on final designs of the embroidered badges
6. tidy my studio

Plus:
1. make up and send out orders
2. make bunting for first day back at school

Now, it might look as though I have only done two of the 6 things listed above, but oh how wrong you can be... take a look at my studio:

I know it's still not completely done, and the other side of the room is still pretty cluttered, but a vast improvement, non? So I know I have been rubbish and not done the other stuff, but I have been so busy making my pretty little nest that I didn't think anyone would mind too much ;)

I'm a very proud bee now :)

addendum

Hello!

OK, so I have done some of my list already...

1. write to my friend Judi
2. design some new lino prints

So now I have to actually make the lino prints, but I guess maybe that should wait until next week.

I do, however, have some things which I forgot to put on the list which I kinda need to do... so I might have to add them on in place of the ones I just completed...

  • I had some orders come in from my shop, which I need to make and send out.
  • I need to make some bunting for the first day back at school next Monday.

...and hope no-one notices ;)

Studio 1

OK, so here is how my studio looks at the moment - pretty disastrous, non?

But it will get better, look I have boxes and everything!
And a Mini Meower to help me!

Week 2

Hello again!

OK, so my new things for the week are:

1. write to my friend Judi who I have not seen in YEARS!
2. design some new lino prints
3. make the hot air balloons which I have now finished designing
4. finish painting the butterdish
5. continue working on final designs of the embroidered badges
6. tidy my studio (the boxes are filling up, now I just need to store them all somewhere!)

End of Week 1

Hello!

It's Tuesday and that means I have had this blog a week. But have I managed to tick off any more things? Ooooh, let's see...

3. draw a design to paint on my friend Claire's butterdish
4. make some awesome hot air balloon brooches for my Etsy shop
5. draw down the embroidered badges that I dreamed about a few months ago
6. tidy my studio

Number 3 has been done, and I have started painting it too, so that is all good.
Number 4 has been started, I have done the preliminary designs but not yet actually made them.
Number 5 I haven't started yet, so I'll have to do that tonight...
Number 6 has been started, in that I have bought a bunch of stackable boxes and have been labelling them up so that I can file away all my crafty bits into appropriate boxes and make it all more organised. Hurrah!

I will think of 5 new things to do this evening, as number 6 will always be "tidy my studio", and post again then.

TTFN!

Introduction - week 1

Hello.

Firstly, some introductions: my name is Vixie and I love lists. I have a lot. Some are my own and some are other people's which I have found (they are kept in a big box labelled "lists"... I wish I was joking).

Anywho, I have a little Moleskine book of lists which I started over two years ago, and there are entries in there which I have not yet completed, even after all that time. It's getting a bit silly, and I don't think it's healthy to have all that stuff hanging over me, waiting to be done and ticked off, so I am going to gradually complete them all and document my progress here.

I am planning on choosing 6 things from my to-do list to complete per week:

3 easy things
2 medium things
1 difficult thing

Here are the things I plan to tick off my to-do list this week:

1. start this blog to get me on my way.
2. write to my grandfather - I have to apologise for not seeing him when he was in London a few weeks ago.
3. draw a design to paint on my friend Claire's butterdish - I have had this one for like a year.
4. make some awesome hot air balloon brooches for my Etsy shop.
5. draw down the embroidered badges that I dreamed about a few months ago.
6. tidy my studio (this one is pretty much ongoing, so expect it to crop up every week)

Right, looks like I have some stuff to be getting on with.

Bye for now!
